Utah M2 to play in first MWCHL Championships

February 6, 2025 Missoula, Montana The University of Utah Skatin’ Utes M2 team will look for their first Mountain West Collegiate Hockey Championship this weekend as the team travels to Missoula, Montana for the 2025 MWCHL Championship Tournament from February 6-8, 2025. Utah secured the 3rd seed in the tournament based on the American Collegiate Hockey Association Men’s Division 2 Rankings from the January 15th, 2025 ranking. Their first game will be tonight versus University of Montana, February 6th, at 7:00 PM MST. Utah is 1-0 against the Grizzlies this season. Utah joined the MWCHL in 2024 after departing the PAC-8 Hockey conference. The team had played in the PAC-8 championship every year they have participated in the PAC-8, with 4 titles wins 2013, 2015, 2016, 2024. Utah was approved to add an American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2 team again in April of 2021 after moving to Division 1 in 2016. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Montana and will take place February 6-8, 2025 with 8 teams competing for the coveted conference championship. A tournament win also includes an automatic bid to the 2025 ACHA Western Regional Tournament in Denver, Colorado from February 21-23, 2025. Tickets are available here.
