The University of Utah M1 hockey program has released its 2024-2025 regular season schedule.
The Skatin’ Utes will enter their eighth season at the ACHA M1 level. This will also be their fourth season as a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHL). Utah is seeking its second consecutive appearance in the American Collegiate Hockey Association M1 National Tournament.
Last season Utah finished ranked 14th in the final ACHA M1 rankings.
Utah starts the season with two home series, the first against University of Colorado on September 20th and 21st. This second versus San Diego State on October 4th and 5th, 2024.
From there, the Skatin’ Utes are on the road for three consecutive weekends. First up will be the ACHA powerhouse, the Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. This will be the first time in team history these two teams will face-off.
The following weekend, October 18th and 19th, Utah will then match up against the Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
Utah will finish their “roadie” in Oklahoma City playing the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma from October 24-26th, 2024. The Utes have have found success against the Bronchos over the last two seasons and hope to finish the road trip with strength.
The Utes will return home on November 1st and 2nd, for two games against WCHL rival Arizona State University, followed by a much needed bye weekend.
Sin City awaits the Utes on November 14th and 15th for a match-up against WCHL rival University of Nevada Las Vegas. The series with the Rebels have turned into quite the rivalry with both teams taking this series personally.
Utah M1 will have one remaining series before the semester ends on December 6th and 7th versus San Diego State in San Diego, California.
The new year will begin with a road stretch with two consecutive weekends on the road. The first in St. Louis, Missouri and the second in Tucson Arizona. The Utes will compete in the ACHA Showcase Tournament against the University of Alabama, University of Maryville, and Illinois State University. The games versus Maryville and Illinois State will be time these teams share a puck drop.
Utah skates into the home stretch of the season with a 4-weekend home-stand. This begins UNLV coming to town on January 31st and February 1st. Next Colorado State comes to the Salt Lake City Sports Complex on February 7th and 8th.
Final two weekends are against Grand Canyon University and the University of Oregon Ducks on February 14th and 15th and February 21st and 22nd.
Senior Night will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 7:30 pm MT.
The final release of the ACHA M1 rankings will be on Sunday, February 23. These rankings will determine if Utah has qualified for the National Tournament in St. Louis. If the Utes earn their second trip to M1 Nationals, they will be in Missouri on Wednesday, March 13th.
