The American Collegiate Hockey Association Women’s Division 1 rankings have been released for the final time this semester, with your Skatin’ Utes moved up to #16 in the nation.
This is the highest ranking the Women’s Division 1 team has earned since it began in 2018.
Utah W1 have earned a 9-3 record through the first semester and will enter the holiday season in excellent position for the second half.
The Utes only losses occurred in October, with two of those loses against defending National Champions Liberty University.
Veteran Forward Sonia Charman continues to lead the Utes is with 16 points (6G, 10A) in 12 games. Followed by five rookie forwards Katherine Zeschuk (6G, 5A), Taylor Wensink (6G, 4A), Kendall Ketchum (5G, 5A), Carmen Mannor (6G, 2A), and Ariel Carlsten (5G, 2A). That is 46 combined points for these five Utah Hockey newcomers.
Following close behind is veterans Morgan Lavalley (3G, 4A), Halee Smith (3G, 4A), Captain Ava Kistner (4G, 2A), and Madison Brent (4G, 1A).
Tandem goaltenders Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine and Miranda De Antunano have been equally impressive during Utah’s strong start. Rookie goalie Robinson-Prefontaine is 4-0 with a 1.50 GAA and a .933 save percentage. De Antunano has a 5-3 record with 3.63 GAA and .855 save percentage.
The Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League, of which Utah W1 is a member, had a decent performance with two (of 7) of its member teams ranked in the top 20. The Women’s Midwest College Hockey League has six (of 8) member teams ranked, while the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association has nine (of 12) of its member teams ranked in the top 20.
The ACHA uses two computer rankings generated by USHSHO.com, Ranking A (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 7) and Ranking B (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 1), and come up with an average of the two rankings. The ACHA will then use the list generated from the average for its weekly ranking. Ties will be broken using the higher ranked team from Ranking B until the Top 20 teams are listed. All games that go to overtime will be scored as ties in the computer ranking.
Now in its 26th season of action, there have been a total of 10 schools that have won the ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championship: Adrian, Liberty (7), Lindenwood (4), Miami (3), Michigan State (2), Minnesota, Northeastern, Robert Morris (2), St. Cloud State, and Wisconsin (2).
A total of 34 teams are competing in Women’s Division 1 this season, including one new full member team, Eastern Michigan University, and two probationary members, University of Washington, and University of New Mexico.
The computer ranking will determine the 10 teams that qualify for the 2026 ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championships, which will include the following three automatic bids:

-(WWCHL) Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League
-(WMCHL) Women’s Midwest College Hockey League
The ninth ranking of the regular season will be released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
